Jan Kaufman specializes in both business transactions and
trademark law.
In addition to her transactional and IP expertise, Jan
has significant experience in brand strategy, protection, monitoring and
enforcement. For over 20 years, she served in a general counsel capacity
for Oakley, Inc. In that role, she managed the company's trademark
portfolio, handled the majority of the company's business transactions,
advised on brand enforcement issues and engaged in litigation.
Although Jan's chief focus is trademark portfolio
management and business transactional work, she has guided many businesses
through a wide variety of day-to-day issues and challenges. In particular,
she has a special knowledge of the action sports industry. In addition to
her work with Hull McGuire, she engages in her own practice in the
northern coastal areas of San Diego County.
