Matt McGuire is a business lawyer, engineer and accountant who advises
clients in several areas and focuses primarily on commercial law and
intellectual property matters. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon
University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1982, was awarded a
Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of
Pittsburgh in 1987, and received his law degree from the Duquesne University
School of Law in 1992. He has also earned the designation of
Certified Management Accountant (C.M.A.).
Before his career in law, Mr. McGuire was a controller with the
Duquesne Light Company. He trained managers in capital budgeting
and cost analysis and planned, forecasted and performed financial analysis. At
Duquesne Light, Mr. McGuire was also a Nuclear Engineering Project Manager
responsible for revising nuclear design changes. He developed and
implemented contracts for equipment, services and spare parts used in
nuclear operations. He has also worked as a full time consultant
for a Fortune 500 company.
Mr. McGuire is a member of the American Bar Association, the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Institute of Management
Accountants.
Mr. McGuire lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
