International Business Seminar
Pittsburgh, 6/3/1999 - On May 7, Hull McGuire
hosted a two-hour seminar for twelve Ukrainian business professionals on
corporate legal practice in the United States as part of the U.S.
Information Agency's "Community Connections" program sponsored
by the U.S. State Department and the Pittsburgh Council for International
Visitors (PCIV). The Ukrainians were from the city of Donets'k,
Ukraine, which is expected soon to be designated as a sister city to
Pittsburgh. The discussion, led by shareholder Dan Hull,
focused primarily on intellectual property protection and product
counterfeiting issues arising in the Ukraine's Donets'k Region. The
city of Donets'k is the administrative, industrial, scientific and
cultural center of the Donets'k Region, which has a population of 5.3
million. Ukrainians comprise 50% of the region's population and
Russians comprise 44%. The Hull McGuire seminar was arranged
through the PCIV.
